The Office of Human Resources is seeking a Manager, Classification & Compensation – Boca Raton,
FL.

Summary of Responsibilities Include:

• Responsible for the administrative process in the creation of new positions,
  reclassification of current positions, updating job descriptions, salary increases, allowances, one-time payments, maintenance of job
  profiles, and assignment adjustments or corrections. Reports to the Associate Director, Compensation & Benefits.
• Conducts
  position analysis to determine appropriate position classifications and performs analysis of position descriptions to determine exempt and
  nonexempt status based on FLSA regulations.
• Oversees the facilitation of FLSA, Minimum Wage, and Workday HCM training and develops
  materials for the university community.
• Supervises the Senior Classification & Compensation Representative and serves as a
  mentor for professional development opportunities.
• Coordinates and monitors the daily work assignments of the Classification &
  Compensation Team to ensure optimal functioning of the area.
• Responsible for Workday troubleshooting and guidance for compensation
  and position management related issues.
• Manages internal and external salary and position surveys.
• Functions as the main
  point for internal and external inquiries and salary surveys/comparisons.
• Works with the Associate Director in utilizing
  compensation and market survey data systems for position and salary studies.
• Advises departments regarding the classification,
  reclassification, special pay increase process, and one-time payment process, including the use and navigation of FAU’s Workday system.
• Serves as a consultant to FAU leadership to provide internal and external survey data for employee equity and retention based on
  departmental budgets.
• Collaborates with the Workday Operations Team to oversee Workday supervisory organization changes,
  departmental reorganizations, and position placement.
• Assists in the development, testing, and maintenance of Workday business
  processes.
• Responsible for managing and updating Classification and Compensation webpage content.
• Assists the Associate
  Director in the creation, updating, and analysis of reports and dashboards.
• Analyzes current salaries in order to maintain equity
  among like class titles.
• Responsible for communicating with other universities (CUHRE) when necessary.
• Works with the
  Senior Representative to resolve empty costing allocations for filled positions.
• Informs the university public of FAU’s pay
  and classification guidelines.
• Researches and stays current on relevant state and federal rules, regulations, and guidelines.
• May work with other Human Resources units to investigate and resolve issues.
• May participate in FAU and Workday
  committees.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree or higher from an
accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of experience working in a Human Resources unit or similar
required.

· Experience in job analysis and position description management.

· Experience conducting salary
studies and market surveys.

· Extensive knowledge of the Fair Labor Standards Act required. 

· Proficiency
in Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel.

· Excellent verbal and written communication
skills.

· Excellent customer service, organizational, and time management skills.

· Preferred
Qualifications:

· Prior experience in a public/governmental organization or higher education institution.

·
Experience with large scale compensation processes such as merit and bonus events.

· Experience working with Workday HCM or
comparable HRIS preferred.

· Ability to use independent decision making and judgement to positively impact business needs.

· HRCI or SHRM certification preferred.

· Experience supervising staff preferred.
