The Flint Hills Resources (FHR) Controllers organization is seeking a dynamic Accounting Manager for our Transaction Accounting Team. This role reports to the Finance Director and leads and develops a team of accountants responsible for the timely and accurate accounting for inventory transactions (sales, purchases, and related costs) in our fuels marketing business. This role will also be a resource for other supervisors growing their leadership skills and will drive transformation initiatives across the Transaction Accounting Team.
Our Team
This role would lead a team of around 5 and is a hybrid role based at our headquarters in Wichita, KS.
What You Will Do
- Be a proactive resource for other supervisors helping them grow their leadership skills by leveraging prior experiences and knowledge
- Drive sustainable and transferable transformations of business processes across the broader Transaction Accounting Team including partnering with IT and other capabilities
- Attract, motivate, empower, develop and retain a diverse team and help to enhance their application of the Principle Based Management philosophy and application
- Build strong partnerships with our commercial organization to deliver a valuable capability
- Apply data analysis to large data sets to solve problems, measure performance, improve efficiency of your team
- Be a role model for internal financial controls and a good steward of the business’s assets through balance sheet, accounts receivable, book to physical and exchange reconciliation reviews
- Ensure strong knowledge processes exist to accelerate onboarding and role transitions
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Experience in Accounting, Finance or business role
- Experience leading a team and having direct reports
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or business field
What Will Put You Ahead
- AP, AR, Inventory Management accounting process experience
- Experience partnering with other capabilities to drive business process transformations
- Experience using large ERPs (Infor, SAP, Oracle) or business analysis and data visualization tools (Alteryx, Power BI, etc.)
