Contract Recruiter Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Contract Recruiter to help First Step meet current and emerging staffing needs. Reporting directly to a Human Resource Business Partner, as a staffing and recruitment specialist, you actively recruit qualified individuals for open positions, formulate and implement hiring processes, oversee candidate interviews and screening, and collaborate with HR personnel to formulate effective staffing strategies. This will be achieved through the development of recruiting plans in concert with the hiring managers; employing traditional sourcing strategies and resources; and developing new, creative recruiting methods to develop a talented pipeline of new employees. Our ideal candidate has both considerable experience and success as a recruiter, in addition to strong communication and organizational skills. This position may require some local travel to meet with professional organizations or attend job events.

Contract Recruiter Duties and Responsibilities
Lead the development and execution of a recruiting and interviewing plan for each open position, as assigned. Review and edit assigned job descriptions for consistency.
Recruit qualified individuals to fill vacant positions, after agreeing to a recruiting plan with the hiring managers which may include posting on several sites.
Network through industry contacts, college and technical school contacts, state job and career agency contacts, associations, and employees.
Maintain and develop effective relationships with professional organizations, local community organizations, local state and community agencies that support job placements, and universities/colleges/technical schools from which applicants may be recruited.
Research and recommend new sources for active and passive candidate recruiting.
Oversee and conduct candidate interviews and implement new hiring and onboarding processes.
Maintain accurate records during all phases of the recruiting and hiring processes.
Conduct regular follow-up meetings with assigned hiring managers to determine the effectiveness of recruiting plans and implementation, with an eye towards continuous improvement.
Develop a pool of qualified candidates in advance of need.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Contract Recruiter Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in HR, business, or a relevant field, or several years of commensurate experience and/or credentials.
Minimum of 2-3 years of recruiting experience.
Strong computer proficiency and knowledge of utilizing social media as a sourcing method.
Demonstrates a positive attitude and acts as an ambassador for the organization
Existing relationships with community and professional organizations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proven experience in researching creative sourcing methods.
Strongly developed interviewing skills to assess and evaluate top talent for open positions.

Please note this is a full-time position, contract position, 40 hours per week. Need to provide own computer equipment.
Estimated contract of 6 months – could be extended based upon business needs combined with performance.
Salary and benefits: Salary commensurate with experience. (expect to pay $45k -65k)
