Starting Rate of Pay: $35.39 / hour
As a Diesel Mechanic / Technician with FedEx Freight, you will use your heavy equipment experience and/or diesel mechanic education to maintain and repair our fleet of diesel tractors. Diesel mechanics are also responsible for trailers, forklifts, and other equipment that requires preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, modifications, and repairs.

POSITION OVERVIEW:
To provide timely, quality, and cost-effective repair and maintenance for vehicle fleet including tractors, trailers, forklifts, and other equipment that requires preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, modifications and repairs
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Repairs, modifies and performs preventive maintenance inspections; troubleshoots fleet including tractors, trailers, forklifts, and other equipment Performs advanced diagnostics to identify source of trouble and performs repairs and/or replaces or rebuilds all components and systems Makes necessary adjustments to equipment for safe and efficient operation and prepares required safety documentation Provides guidance and mentoring to less-experienced technicians Ensures proper accurate documentation of all maintenance performed, completes reports in writing and electronically Performs safety inspections of equipment and documents the work Performs paint and body work on vehicles, as required Complies with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures Performs other assignments (or duties) as required
