SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES: This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, monitoring and tracking programs toward the efficient and effective operation of PWC’s Human Resources department. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, planning and coordinating HR programs such as new employee orientation, annual open enrollment, wellness programs, i.e. Know Your Number®, EAP initiatives, group Life & LTD benefits, Employee Appreciation Day, Annual picnic, Service Awards, Gallup surveys, the CDL Clearinghouse, HR SharePoint site, internship programs (ICON and college) and Affirmative Action Plan; driving/operating vehicles in performing work assignments/responsibilities. Operating under general supervision of designated supervisor. Performs related work as required and assigned. Work is performed in accordance with established policies and procedures.
EQUIPMENT OPERATED: Computer, calculator, communication, and other equipment as required.
FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Good knowledge of safety rules/regulations; working knowledge of current government regulations related to employment and benefits; general knowledge of employment laws and practices; excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment (must include Excel and demonstrated skills in database management and record keeping); must possess strong interpersonal, communications and organizational skills, both oral and in writing, ability to research, plan, coordinate, schedule, project, and prioritize work; ability to prepare and maintain reports and records, ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects; ability to maintain effective working relationships with customers, the general public, all levels of employees, officials, vendors and contractors.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: (either)
(A) Graduation from an accredited four (4) year college/university with a Human Resources related degree; OR
(B) Graduation from an accredited two (2) year community/technical college with a degree/certification in Human Resources or related field and a minimum of four (4) years of experience as defined in (A) above; OR
(C) Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and a minimum of eight (8) years of experience as defined in (A) and (B) above; OR
(D) An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience as defined in (A), (B), and (C) above.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess/maintain a valid driver’s license.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position.

PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT: As required in the Public Works Commission’s Safety Manual.
