HTI is recruiting a Direct Hire Facilities Maintenance Technician position on 1st shift. Pay is between $23.41 – 26.27 per hour depending on experience. Excellent Benefits Package Provided.
Please Note: Primary duties will include working with Vendors, working with EHS, ordering various items, test equipment, responsible for bill of ladings, and working with SAP among other duties.
Position Summary: The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine repairs and maintenance of plant facilities and building equipment. He/she coordinates with building repair contractors and assists, as directed, in more complex maintenance and repair of plant facilities and building equipment. Duties may fall into a variety of trades, including carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, energy management, fire and life safety and keys/security systems.
Position Duties:
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair facilities equipment for a safe and productive work environment.
- Provide sound technical support to ensure building equipment is in a constant state of readiness.
- Perform preventative maintenance on building equipment and building systems.
- Review building spare parts needs and maintain stock necessary.
- Performs preventative maintenance on building systems, plumbing, electrical, mechanical and control systems and related components; tests system competency and component devices and evaluates performance.
- Repairs and maintains a variety of facilities systems, components and structures; repairs building plumbing, low-voltage, and line voltage electric systems, door hardware, fire and life safety protection equipment/systems, sprinkler systems, sensors and related hardware and software; constructs and maintains indoor/outdoor facilities, fans, lights and related; conducts structural inspections for safety.
- Identifies repair and maintenance projects requiring the assistance of contractors or vendors; participates in estimates and evaluations of project costs; monitors work of vendors or contractors; assists in the review of new construction or remodel plans to assure compliance with facility maintenance standards
- Accesses and makes all levels of adjustments to computerized control systems, such as for lighting or energy management systems; and troubleshoots control system problems
- Repair building equipment such as coolant evaporator, coolant centrifuge.
- Perform preventive maintenance on coolant evaporator, coolant centrifuge.
- Coordinate air compressor repairs and preventive maintenance.
- Monitor air compressor functionality.
- Coordinate waste and waste oil pick up/disposal with recycling companies according to local, state and federal laws
- Coordinate Oil supply for machine equipment.
- Coordinate with City of Newton any PM’s or repairs with the back-up generator.
- Responsible for assured compliance with NCDOL in regards to pressure vessel inspections
- Crane and overhead hoists: responsible for required inspections and coordinating repairs
- Fire Sprinkler System: Responsible for coordinating inspections and repairs
- Fire Alarm / Security System: Responsible for coordinating inspections and repairs
- HVAC System: Responsible for coordinating service, repairs, and PM’s
- Articulated Boom Lift / Scissor Lift: Responsible for inspections, condition, and repairs
- Assist with building repairs, replacements and installations.
- Repair or replace light fixtures, bulbs, covers, etc.
- Assist plant personnel with environmental and safety issues.
- Perform all related Safety Inspections / Audits according to current SOP’s
- Perform air filter exchange and filter cleaning for air mist collectors.
- Maintains appropriate records and reports.
- Act as liaison between the facility and federal, state and local organizations to ensure compliance with all applicable laws
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Understand and comply compliance with ZFPS, IATF16949, All ISO, and OSHA requirements and all state and local applicable laws.
- Follow all safety rules and wear the appropriate personal protective equipment appropriate the area in which he/she is working.
- Actively participate in Safety Activities and Investigations
- Actively participate in meetings and training courses
- Complete required documentation and forms
- Comply with all Corporate, Regional, and local HR policies/guidelines, Group Directives and Group Procedures that are applicable to your position.
- Perform other duties as related to this specific position.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 5 Years of experience in facilities and building maintenance.
- Knowledge of: Power and hand tools used in facilities maintenance; recordkeeping techniques and regulations, including use of automated record systems; OSHA workplace health and safety standards and procedures; use of personal computers to use automated recordkeeping tools, automated system controls, and email; customer service practices.
- Ability to: Use and train others on a variety of tools and power equipment; plan and coordinate work; track and plan preventative maintenance work; maintain records and reports in computerized and written formats, compliant with regulatory requirements; effectively use email and automated calendaring systems; make arithmetic calculations quickly and accurately; learn and apply health and safety regulations; work independently with minimal supervision; understand and follow oral and written directions; optimize efficiencies provided by automated maintenance management and service request tools; work from blue prints, shop drawings and sketches; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
- Operate light equipment (sweeper, drills, saws, etc.) forklifts, scissor lift required.
- Knowledge of facilities building and safety codes.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Associate Degree, 5 or more years of experience in building and facilities maintenance a plus.
- SAP experience.
- Lean Manufacturing knowledge (6 sigma, 5S, SMED, Pull system, Etc.)
- Microsoft Office.
