The El Camino Community College District is now accepting applications for anticipated part-time faculty positions for the 2024 spring semester to provide Learning Disability Assessments and accommodations and/or teach courses with the discipline of Educational Development. These courses may include the following:
Educational Development
Increased Learning Performance for English or Math, Writing Skills for Students with Learning Differences, Specific Learning Strategies, and Individualized Assessment of Learning.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s in the category of the disability, special education, education, psychology, educational psychology or rehabilitation counseling and 15 upper division or graduate semester units in area of Learning Disabilities; OR
The equivalent – Candidates not possessing the required qualifications as stated above, must explain in detail how their qualifications are equivalent to those above; OR
Valid California community college instructor credential authorizing teaching in Disabled Student Programs and Services; AND
Sensitivity to and understanding of a broad range of disabilities and diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Certification in the California Community Colleges Learning Disability Eligibility Model (LDEM)
Previous experience teaching reading, writing or math with individual with disabilities.

SALARY:
Part-time faculty are compensated on a semester basis according to the number of class hours assigned per semester and on cumulative semesters of instruction for the District. The beginning rate is $111.54 – $134.39 (lecture), $84.54 – $101.83 (lab), per hour depending on education and experience.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
This is a part-time, temporary position for the spring semester, beginning February 2024. Assignments may include off-site locations. Offer and acceptance of employment is subject to verification of all information provided on the employment application, credential(s), and transcripts. Candidates selected for employment must agree to be fingerprinted, submit a Certificate of Completion of the Tuberculosis Risk Assessment and/or Examination, provide proof of eligibility for employment in the United States, and present a valid Social Security Card upon hire.
