The Associate Director, Cloud Infrastructure Architect is responsible for the design solutions and service delivery for all departments ( commercial , R&D , sales, marketing, etc ) across the Americas. Reporting to the Americas Infrastructure Lead , the a ssociate provides extensive , broad-based technical architecture , leadership, management experience and expertise to oversee our Amazon Web Services ( AWS ) , Microsoft Azure, and on-premises infrastructure platforms. This role is very AWS heavy and requires deep technical hands-on expertise . A key technical leader for Eisai’s regional and global infrastructure and cloud delivery, the a ssociate will leverage both prior experience and a strong track record to set up multi hybrid cloud environments, data center migrations, IaC , DevOps practices, SDLC methods, and security .

This leader is responsible for the architecture, assessment , and migration planning of on-premises systems to cloud – native deployment methodologies and h as the vision and foresight to incorporate future planning into a cloud migration strategy. As part of this vision, the a ssociate will introduc e new emerging technologies, cloud adoption plans, cloud infrastructure design s , and cloud management strategies.

L ead ing a technical team of local and offshore subject matter experts and e ngineers both direct ly and indirect ly, t h e a ssociate will help direct the governance, management , and day to -day operations of the infrastructure and cloud a rchitecture . Functioning as an internal consultancy to Eisai’s IT, business leadership, and other stakeholders, th is consultancy provides a cost-effective portfolio of services that promot e cloud solution deliver ies and ensure operational support. A s a key Cloud strategist, the a ssociate provide s thought leadership on Eisai’s optimized Cloud environment to increase business security, scalability , and enable strategic capabilities for continued growth .

T he a ssociate will have and leverage exceptional communication, presentation , and change management skill s to drive Eisai’s Cloud solutions across all levels of the organization regionally and participate globally .

Essential Functions

• Technical Leadership (50% of Time )

• Influence s senior management on Cloud technolog y adoptions and best practices.
• Define s Operating Models for Regional and helps with Global Cloud adoption .
• Participates in t echnical Architecture W orking G roups (TAWG) with Japan , UK , and US Cloud T eams .
• Design s and b uild s GXP/GDPR Complaint and validated Cloud infrastructure and applications.

• Work s with P rocurement to select and implement vendor partner s.
• Build s Cloud Center of Excellence (CCOE) and Cloud Operations Team s.
• Build s Dev O ps /Automation methods .
• On-Premises/Storage and Data management design and next generation DC services strategy .
• Review s and provides recommendations for (current) Data replication DR and business continuity .
• Design s and review s technical environment design for each infrastructure/application solution to determine compatibility with existing infrastructure .
• Assess es new hardware and software as may be needed to implement proposed infrastructure design s and makes recommendations for each solution.
• Deliver s infrastructure design s to be implemented for each solution in the existing client environment (CPU, RAM, storage, Network).
• Ensures management confirmation for all key commitments including scope and requirements changes , quality assurance plans, budget s , and implementation schedules.
• Approve s infrastructure/application solution requirements and design s .
• Work s with ongoing t echnology refresh and e nd of life projects to ensure each solution design follows best practices.
• Advises on SaaS support and conversion .

• Project Management (25% of Time )

• Lead s Infrastructure and Cloud related project initiatives through out project life cycle.
• Scope s solution requirements and configure s solutions using various cloud platforms to meet business needs and project deliverables.
• Organize s and prioritize s development efforts , interfac es with other technical teams as necessary.
• Overs ees and coordinat es development efforts with external vendors and partners .

• Strategy (25% of Time )

• Expands the use of cloud technologies by partnering with stakeholders to implement new capabilities.
• Establish es and maintain s roadmap for the adoption of new services and associated enhancements.

• Establish es and execute s governance for cloud platforms.

Requirements

• Work Experience and Education

• An undergraduate or postgraduate degree in computer science, information science, management information systems, or business administration or a related field or equivalent experience relevant to this position.
• Minimum of 10 years related work experience.

• Information Technology Experience

• 8+ years of overall experience in information technology and 4 + years as a C loud Architect .
• 3 + years of experience in technical leadership roles for enterprise-scale application architecture and delivery .
• AWS /Azure Solutions Architect Certifications . AWS Certified Architect Professional is a must have .
• I nfrastructure a s a C ode experience, specifically with Terraform & Ansible .
• Network and Security as Code experience .
• ITIL Foundation certified with strong understanding of the ITIL framework.
• Working knowledge of LDAP, AD, SSO, Email Infrastructure, Web Services .
• Experience with AWS and Azure all services required for Design and build Infrastructure solutions.
• Experience with AWS Control Tower/Azure Landing zone designs .
• Experience in Networking, Firewalls, Load Balancers, Storage, Compute on AWS, Azure , and Data centers .
• Experience d esigning and implementing scalability, failover, high availability, DR, capacity planning, security, and compliance.
• Experience with b ackups and recover y tools.
• Hands-on professional level experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Linux, containers .

• DevOps automation frameworks, CI/CD pipelining, automated delivery models, Azure Dev O ps, Cloud formations, ARM templates, GitHub .
• Expertise in p erformance monitoring and tuning .
• Experience with Physical servers such as HP DL series, Sun Sprac , Dell Powerstore, Pure Storage Array, Dell IDPA, and Fabric Networking.
• Strong business analysis skill s and experience . Includes requirements definition and process modelling.
• Experience working with all levels of the organization to develop a platform strategy and roadmap and also maintain consensus around the strategic direction .
