SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Director of Admissions & Recruitment, the
Recruiter is responsible for being the first point of contact and prospective student liaison and will act as a public representative of the
University, The Recruiter will perform data entry and other duties necessary for the recurring operations of the Office of Student
Recruitment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
PROSPECTIVE STUDENT LIAISON:
•
Provides first point of contact and serve as an information resource for prospective students.
• Educates prospective students and
public regarding all University offerings and enrollment related processing timelines.
• Serves as a public representative of the
University therefore must be comfortable giving University information session, taking phone calls, and meeting with students and families
for in person questions.
• Responds directly to questions from students and parents on many aspects of the admissions process
including application requirements, deadlines, and criteria for scholarships and financial aid.
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge
of the University’s academic offerings, activities, scholarships, financial aid, athletics, housing, transfer services, student support
services, and other campus life.
• Hosts campus tours with prospective students and their families.
DATA
ENTRY AND RECURRING RECRUITMENT OPERATIONS:
• Handle telephone calls and other written communication. Must be familiar
with other areas of campus to help callers with additional questions they may have about our University while using cordial phone
etiquette.
• Works closely with the Administrative Assistant for the Office of Admissions & Recruitment in scheduling tours,
events, and other recruitment related activities.
• Works closely with the Office of Academic Affairs, department chairs, faculty,
academic advisors, and career services staff to ensure that the University offerings are highlighted and curriculum is presented in a manner
attractive to new students.
• Coordinates on-site visits with high school guidance and counseling staff members for prospective
students requiring assistance. Ensures all scheduled appointments are recorded on the master calendar maintained by the Administrative
Assistant for the Office of Admissions & Recruitment.
• Works closely with the Office of Admissions & Recruitment’s
Administrative Assistant to assure successful LEAD entry upon returning from recruitment events and visits.
• Organize and lead
meetings with stakeholders, presentations to potential applicants, follow-up communication with prospective applicants, and attending
college fairs.
• Provides exceptional customer service to all prospective and current students, both in person and on the
phone.
• Performs general office functions requiring knowledge of correct office procedures and policies.
• Assists in
developing the most effective balance between recruiting for prospective first year students, exploratory students and transfer students
implementing on campus and off campus recruitment strategies. Collaborates with other University departments interested in calling
prospective student; assists with their campaigns to ensure they conform to admissions office standards for prospective student outreach.
• Assists in refining initiatives to keep recruiting programs viable and enhance the quality of the student body by establishing
cooperative relationships with prospective students, high schools, two-year colleges, and other relevant constituencies.

relationships with prospective students, students, faculty, staff, and the general public.
• Communicate effectively by phone, in
person, and in writing.
• Provide a friendly customer-service environment.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding
protected information.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to be an effective member of the team.
• Ability to work
autonomously and a commitment to working in a team environment within a variety of venues/locales.
• Ability and willingness for
occasional evening and weekend work, and overnight travel.
• Ability to understand University procedures, curricular offerings,
academic placement, financial aid programs, scholarship eligibility criteria, and award procedures.
• Ability to perform other
job-related duties as assigned.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree Preferred. Related experience in admissions, recruitment, or other higher education activities is preferred.
Experience with SEM, COGNOS, Mongoose/Cadence applications a plus.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Must be
self-directed, very resourceful, highly motivated, enthusiastic, and possess a positive attitude.
Required skills include the
ability to synthesize, summarize and communicate information from a variety of sources; and good oral communication, writing, as well as,
interpersonal skills.
Must be task-oriented with the ability to complete projects under tight deadlines.
Must be
skilled in Microsoft Office Applications to include Outlook, Word, and Excel.

occasionally lifting and loading small amounts of office supplies.
