NARRATIVE DESCRIPTION:
This position is classified as a
temporary full-time at-will employment appointment. The Coordinator of Athletic Operations and Outreach effectively provides sports
information guidance for the institution’s NCAA Division II program. The Coordinator of Athletic Operations and Outreach effectively
operates in accordance with university, conference and NCAA rules and regulations. Coordinator of Athletic Operations and Outreach
represents the athletic program and university in its overall promotion and public relations efforts. This position reports directly to the
Athletic Director.
FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION:
1. Responsible for sharing information with multiple local, regional
and national media outlets;
2. Establish and maintain a working relationship with press colleagues;
3. Responsible for all press
releases, writing feature stories, and direct media operations for athletics;
4. Responsible for compiling statistics through STAT CREW
program;
5. Creation of pre-game and post-game notes for athletic events;
6. Submission of statistics and nomination of athletes
to the conference and NCAA;
7. Accountable for timely maintenance of athletic website;
8. Oversee the management of department and
program social media accounts;
9. Secure photo and video documentation of athletic events through photography and live streaming;
10. Assist with game day operations (media, event staff assignments, passes, etc)
11. Coordination. Planning and Execution of Special
Events and Game Day Operations.
12. Establish working collaborations with other colleges and departments on campus for engagement,
recruitment and retention. Provide internships and capstone experiences within the athletic department.
