Organizational Unit Overview |
The College of Nursing (CON) is an academic unit within the Division of Academic Affairs at East Carolina University. The College of Nursing has a Baccalaureate, including pre-licensure, Accelerated baccalaureate and an RN-BSN option, PhD, DNP, and a Masters program, which includes concentrations in Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Midwifery, Clinical Nurse Specialist, Psych Mental Health, Nursing Education, Nurse Anesthesia and Nursing Leadership. The student enrollment is 1200 students. There are 113 faculty and 43 support staff. The College itself is located on the west campus. The college has three departments: Department of Baccalaureate Education, Department of Advanced Nursing Practice and Education, and Department of Nursing Science. The College of Nursing has academic support offices and a Business Office. The Business Office provides support to offices of the following: The Dean, Associate Dean for Graduate Programs, Associate Dean for the Undergraduate Program, Associate Dean for Nursing Support Services (which includes Student Services, the Advising Center, Concepts Integration Lab, Counseling and Development, Information Technology, and a Learning Resources Center), and the Associate Dean for Research and Scholarship. |
Job Duties |
The primary purpose of this position is to work with senior administration to determine needs, manage, and execute event planning efforts for the College of Nursing (CON). This position is responsible for increasing the credibility and image of the college by providing well-planned and professional customer service during planning stages of events and presence at on and off site events. This position also serves as the point person to produce communications materials, including invitations, programs, and marketing materials such as posters and flyers. This position will debrief post event(s) and recommend improvements for future coordination. This position manages and plans all CON events for the Dean, faculty, staff, students, and aids in all aspects of events and event planning for the CON. Additionally this position plans, executes and manages student leadership events, which entails working with the CON Leadership Council. This position coordinates Sponsorships and fundraising for CON events including the Nursing 5K and Hall of Fame in conjunction with the CON Major Gifts Officer. This position markets, promotes and posts CON events and faculty events on social media and is responsible for the CON convocation process and program. Prepares and organizes materials for events and programs, oversees program printing, faculty booklets, seating for CON events and convocation, designs parent buttons and recruitment items, and makes arrangements for room(s) to be available for faculty. This position oversees and coordinates the development and creative process for, editing of, and production of all CON promotional materials and publications. The seated employee must be knowledgeable of the university logo regulations. This position is the point person for collecting and storing historical event data and coordination for training stakeholders for CON events and is responsible for purchasing all CON promotional/marketing supplies for all CON promotional events. |
