Job Summary:
Drake University Head Start is seeking 2 professional
Teacher Associates for new toddler classrooms in the Des Moines area. These positions will assist the lead teacher and child in daily
activities in the classroom. These individuals will participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of a developmentally
appropriate practice. The position consists of light cooking, assisting the teacher, and working directly with the children and some time
spent completing required paperwork.
The teacher associate will:
* Work with the teacher to develop activities for children based
on their interests and individual needs.
* Encourage the children to develop a positive self-concept through supportive and cheerful
interaction.
* Assist with instruction by following lesson plans while adapting plans to meet individual learning styles.
* Promote
successful classroom performance for each student.
* Assist teacher with documentation and observations of the children.
Minimum Qualifications:
Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or comparable credential or equivalent
coursework in early childhood development with a focus on infant and toddler development
Preferred Qualifications:
Head Start Experience
Current Driver’s License
Job Duties:
