Position Summary
Dominican is seeking an individual to serve as a term faculty member and the Academic Fieldwork Assistant for the doctorate and master’s programs in occupational therapy. The Academic Fieldwork Assistant will be a core faculty member of the Master’s in Occupational Therapy Program and may teach select courses in the Doctoral Degree program. The Academic Fieldwork Assistant works with the Academic Fieldwork Coordinator to ensure program compliance with fieldwork requirements for accreditation.

Responsibilities

• Assists in ensuing implementation of and compliance with fieldwork accreditation standards (C.1.0) as defined by the Council for Accreditation of Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE)
• Works with the Academic Fieldwork Coordinator, the fieldwork office staff and work study students to establish and maintain fieldwork sites that are congruent with the curricular themes and design of the program
• Assists in recruiting field work sites and maintaining contractual agreements for occupational therapy
• Assists with Level I and Level II fieldwork placements as assigned by Academic Fieldwork Coordinator
• Teach occupational therapy undergraduate and graduate level courses
• Attend and contribute to university and department faculty meetings, retreats, and other professional development activities
• Participate in curriculum development for individual courses and overall program for the MSOT program
• Evaluate and grade student work and provide feedback to students
• Mentor and advise MSOT students on the progress of their projects and coursework
• Uphold academic performance standards and integrity

Required Qualifications

• Holds a Masters degree in occupational therapy or related field, awarded by an institution that is accredited by a USDE-recognized institutional accrediting agency
• Occupational therapist who is licensed in California with at least 2 years of clinical practice experience as an occupational therapist
• Three years of higher education experience or equivalent teaching
• Proficient or able to learn in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, Moodle (online classroom management tool), Zoom, and other relevant software needed to perform the job duties
• Google Suite: Docs, Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Sheets, and Slides
• Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Zoom
• Digital Camera
