The HR Project Manager is responsible for partnering with HR Leadership, Centers of Excellence, and Shared Services to effectively meet business objectives and goals through planning, delivering, and managing HR related projects and key HR programs.
This position requires working knowledge of the project lifecycle and is responsible for managing HR programs and projects from initiation to completion. HR Project Manager serves as the primary interface between project teams and clients, and are responsible for establishing and managing expectations and results.
HR Project Manager must establish appropriate timelines and deliverables for all tasks assigned and coordinate the resources needed to accomplish goals. HR Project Manager is responsible for effectively managing and communicating changes to project plans and adjustments to scope/budget. Incumbents must embrace and support Family Dollar’s store-centric commitment to customers, customer service, and sales. Principal Duties & Responsibilities: Project Management :
Manage mid-scale HR projects through the 5 life-cycle stages: Initiating, Planning, Executing, Controlling/Monitoring, and Closing.
Facilitate cross-functional groups to achieve common goals.
In partnership with Corporate Communications team and HR Leadership team, ensure the HR Community is “ready” to support the deployment of any HR programs, projects, or initiatives.
Maintain essential partnerships across HR functions to ensure alignment, collaboration and support.
Utilize HR’s Project Planning methodology and best practices; track assigned projects and monitor progress. Provide project updates to PMO and HR leadership.
Partner with technology team to ensure enabling technology infrastructure is operational, is customer centric and meets the needs of the business.
Program Management:
Manage assigned programs (Culture, Talent Management, Succession Planning, Rewards & Recognition, Event Planning, etc.).
Develop deployment plans and execute on those plans per timelines agreed upon with business partners.
Ongoing review and evaluation of program effectiveness. Provide recommendations for process improvements or enhancements.
Follow all company policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned

Indirect Management of Assigned Project Team Members (varies)
Minimum Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree with study of focus in Business, HR, Industrial Psychology, Organizational Development or equivalent experience.
Experience: 3-5 years of human resources experience with exposure to multiple HR disciplines with at least 1 year of project management experience. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Project management and analytical skills are essential. Must have ability to multi-task and demonstrate flexibility with shifting priorities.
Job Related Skills: Industry background preference for retail, particularly in small box and extreme value segment.
Computer Skills: MS Office Suite, Outlook, Power Point, and Excel, Microsoft Project, Access Certifications: PHR/SPHR certification is advantageous. PMP (Project Management Professional) designation a plus.
