POSITION SUMMARY
Under the general supervision of the Production Supervisor, is responsible for preparing final products from written directions and formula sheets, for filling final product into appropriate containers, using packaging information from formula sheets for labeling, closures, fill weights
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for checking formula sheets and preparing proper measures of raw materials.
Prepares material for mixing by:
Bringing drums to the mixing area by forklift and/or.
Connecting proper vessels to feed lines.
Aspirates or hand dumps materials into mixer following formula on batch sheet.
Starts mixer and insures that proper time of mix and temperature is followed as well as proper mixing instructions.
Empties mixer contents to proper container size.
Observes all safety precautionary texts.
Washes and cleans mixer.
Responsible for setting up equipment.
Responsible for checking labeled containers to verify correct products, size, U.N. labels from packaging sheet.
Insure the correct weight of containers and proper labeling from the take sheet.
Proper opening and closing of valves.
Wiping off spillage.
Proper and safe cleaning of lines after use.
Keep work areas clean.
Clean up spills immediately.
General cleanup at the end of each shift.
Operates forklifts in a safe manner.
Insure totes, containers are tie wrapped, not leaking and have correct labeling before shipping by filling out the fill sheet for each container.
Check raw materials name, DBC#, C of A against spec sheets or test, check weight and fill out receiving report for each Purchase Order when receiving raw materials into stock
Check totes, drums, truck compartments before filling for cleanliness.
Will work overtime when required
Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be able to read, write, and do simple arithmetic computations. Knowledge of basic chemical agents and their reaction as required. Knowledge of lift truck operation.
Must be able to maneuver drums and buggies weighing 700 pounds or more from one point to another, lift 50 pound bags, and operate lift truck. Handle hoses up to 2″ diameter.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Exposure to chemical dust, acid, and caustics. Work inside except occasional maintenance work to building and grounds outside of the building.
Responsible for small hand tools, filling, and packing equipment, reporting of maintenance items of mixing equipment. Preventative maintenance of mixing equipment.
