Job Summary: *
This position is the technical lead for all IT and data center functions for a large broadband carrier. This includes technical leadership for a very large in-house VM cluster, as well as a large number of independent element management systems. Technology includes x86, VM, Sparc, Windows, RHEL, and SunOS/Solaris. The Director is also responsible for the day-to-day IT functions in supporting company IT needs, other system and application team’s infrastructure, database administration, superior helpdesk support, field applications and equipment and catch all for IT Governance; while helping define standards and establishing migration strategies along with a transitional operating strategy to develop into a fast-paced and evolving company. Must be hands on, while also being a leader in driving to build a critical support organization to help other IT organizations and business units support the end customer.

Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. The work is primarily a modern office setting.
