Position: Production Control Manager
Location: Alabaster, AL
Pay: $65K – $85K
As the Production Control Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of production planning and control. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient flow of materials, resources, and information throughout the production process. Your primary goal will be to establish a robust production control process, maintain optimal inventory levels, minimize lead times, and maximize production output.
Job Duties:
- Develop and implement a production control management system to control processes and deliver resources for the successful on-time delivery of manufactured products.
- Work closely with the Master Scheduler to develop and implement detailed, constraint-based, production schedules to meet promised deliveries.
- Monitor and maintain optimal levels of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods to support production needs.
- Implement and oversee an effective inventory and production control system.
- Provide technical guidance in the use and optimization of the Epicor ERP system.
- Effectively manage the procurement team to ensure timely procurement of raw materials and components.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers for consistent and reliable supply.
- Continuously identify areas for improvement in production processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and increase productivity.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, purchasing, and quality personnel regarding material status and production planning issues.
- Assist in the development and formulation of long and short-range planning, improvement programs, and both individual and department objectives.
- Prepare regular reports on production objectives, performance, and compliance for management review.
- Achieve optimum employee levels with appropriate amounts of overhead and expenditures to meet an annual budgetary plan.
- Hire, train, develop and evaluate staff. Take corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy.
- Ensure compliance with current federal, state and local regulations, consulting with the Human Resources Department as appropriate.
- Work effectively and relate well with others. Exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others, working to maintain constructive working relationships.
- Act as a company representative to vendors and customers, providing timely and appropriate support.
- Perform miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned and required.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, operations management, supply chain management, or related field preferred but not required.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, and control in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in the use of ERP and MRP systems with direct, working knowledge of Epicor ERP system.
- Experience with MS Office applications, with a high level of proficiency using MS Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams.
