With over 700 employees, Behavioral Health Services (BHS) at Denver Health is a large and rapidly expanding department that provides psychiatric care for patients in community, emergency, inpatient, justice, medical, mobile, and outpatient settings. Job Summary
Under general supervision by the Associate Chief of Behavioral Health Services, the hospital-based Infant Mental Health (IMH) Psychologist provides clinical and supportive care in hospital-based pediatric services such as Labor and Delivery, Mother Baby, and the neonatal ICU as an extension of the Psychiatric Consultation-Liaison (C-L) Service. This position will also work collaboratively with the primary C-L Psychiatry team, Ambulatory Care Services, Outpatient Behavioral Health Services, and other hospital departments to develop the infant mental health consultation and intervention program. Participates in quality improvement initiatives, research, and other efforts to ensure sustainability of infant mental health services. Strives to create a positive experience for patients and their families as well as to support the needs of the multi-disciplinary primary teams. Engages in regular communication with behavioral health leadership and supervisors and attends patient rounds and staff meetings as indicated by the needs of the primary team. Is respectful of the roles of all multi-disciplinary providers and engages with their colleagues to provide collaborative, compassionate, and quality care to patients. Collaborates with community partners and stakeholders both internal and external as needed. There may be teaching and supervision opportunities available with the doctoral psychology internship trainees. May assist in supervision in other areas including on the Proactive Pediatric Psychology Consultation-Liaison (PPPCL) Service. Advances the overall infant mental health vision of the organization. Has a passion for providing care for diverse and underserved populations and promoting health equity.
