Monday through Friday; 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., in addition to some evening and weekend hours, on-call duty.
Basic Function:
Administer various approaches to formal and informal conflict resolution, participate in related training, education, and community outreach, and provides supervision to a student worker overseeing marketing and programming for the Office of Community Values and Student Conduct, as well as for volunteer program facilitators and University Conduct Board members. Participate in the on-call rotation to support students’ well-being. Title and compensation will be provided commensurate with experience.
Essential Job Functions:
Serve as a member of the Student Conduct team. Contribute to the continued development and advancement of an innovative and engaging approach to community building and educational discipline based on Denison’s mission, leadership principles, commitment to civic engagement, creative problem solving, and elements of individual and community well-being.
Administer informal and formal methods of conflict resolution to students and affected community members. This includes the administrative tasks associated with case management, including meeting preparation, note-taking, resolution of cases, and follow-up regarding outstanding case needs.
Assess, evaluate, and support the updating of programs, trainings, and services to match the mission of the university, vision of the department, be in line with best practices within the student conduct field and higher education, as well as identified core student learning outcomes.
Serve as the primary manager for the University Conduct Board, including oversight of the membership recruitment process, the development and facilitation of initial training for recruitment and returning members to serve, and coordination of on-going training opportunities for members through the academic year.
Supervise a student employee(s) who manages the creation of passive marketing materials, helps to develop campus-wide or community-specific programs, and serves as a promoter of the work the Office of Community Values and Student Conduct does within the community.
Supports the development of educational sanctions for alcohol, marijuana, and other drugs, through benchmarking, sanction creation, and assessment of sanction efficacy within the student conduct process.
Maintain high visibility and engagement with the student body and campus community at university events; work effectively and collaboratively with a culturally diverse population of students to coach, mentor and support dynamic needs around the development of values-based decision making and community living.
Coordinate and design programmatic and other co-curricular initiatives (grounded in valued based decision making, personal and community-based risk assessment, civic engagement, diversity, leadership development and creative problem solving), managing the assigned program budget and maintenance of records.
Build strong, collaborative relationships with campus partners, students, faculty/staff and parents; and communicate regularly with these partners regarding upcoming programs or ways to connect with the department. Demonstrate generous support to the work of colleagues in Student Life, as well as faculty and staff across the college.

Serve as an on-call professional for the University.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
An earned Bachelor’s degree, andAssistant Director: minimum of three years related professional experience are required.Associate Director: minimum of five years related professional experience are required.
Ability to accommodate adapted work hours, including some evening and weekend work hours. Must have a current, valid driver’s license and must be insurable under Denison’s liability insurance policy.
Must be able to work with diverse groups of people, possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, and have an understanding and appreciation for the liberal arts and residential colleges.
Additional skills: Strong desire to build relationships with students, colleagues, and college partners. Communicate effectively orally and in writing, including the ability to engage one-on-one and in a public forum, such as presentations and training facilitation. Lead relationally with exceptional interpersonal skills; integrity, sound judgment, and the ability to make difficult decisions.
Preferred Qualifications:
An earned Master’s degree in College Student Personnel, Higher Education Administration, Social Work, or other related advanced degree is preferred.
Experience working with mediation and restorative justice.
Physical Demands:
Office environment which may include: sitting, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
