David Evans and Associates, Inc. Looking for Accounts Payable (AP) Specialist at Portland, OR  Full Time

DEA’s Corporate Finance team is currently searching for an Accounts Payable (AP) Specialist for a full time opportunity with our Corporate Accounting group located in Portland, OR. As a key player in supporting the daily operations of the accounts payable group, this position requires a team player with strong attention to detail, who takes pride in producing quality work products. Exceptional communication and customer service skills are a must.

Responsibilities

• Process vendor and subcontractor invoices and expense reports, using Concur
• Reconcile vendor statements, research and correct discrepancies
• Process new vendors and update old vendors in a timely manner
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure correct application of invoices
• Respond to all vendor inquiries
• Assist internal clients with questions or concerns
• Keep track of problems and work them until they are completed
• Stay organized and process-focused
• Work collaboratively with the AP team with what is needed
• Resolve any issues or mistakes quickly, escalating to manager if needed
• Assist with other projects as needed

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s degree or higher preferred.
• Must have 2 or more years of Accounts Payable experience.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to evaluate and solve problems with minimum assistance.
• Understanding of modern office methods, practices, procedures and equipment including automated financial management systems.
• Proven capability for effective use of computer systems including spreadsheet, word processing and accounting software.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills in order to maintain accurate records and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and verbal skills (both written and oral) in order to effectively problem solve with other employees
• Must maintain a high standard of confidentiality and honesty.
• Must work effectively as a team member, with management staff and must be able to work independently and/or unsupervised.

Desired Qualifications

• Coursework or degree in accounting or similar field
• Experience in engineering or construction industry or similar high-paced, project-focused environment
• Concur Expense and Concur Invoice or other Automated AP invoice and expense software
