As Data Privacy Legal Analyst I, your specific responsibilities include:
Supports privacy projects with a lead attorney or senior member of the team.
Supports the team on how to proceed with a project, the interim steps needed to complete the project, monitoring the project and timely meeting the deadlines associated with the project.
Pursuant to attorney supervision, reviews data processing agreements, draft initial redlines, and undertake privacy related projects.
As assigned, supports global compliance efforts such as data retention rules documentation, data mapping and data flow diagramming, including communicating with and providing guidance to stakeholders.
Prepares routine privacy related correspondences. Prepares communications aimed at ensuring awareness, understanding and compliance with data privacy obligations.
Supports the team in responding to privacy requests from clients, candidates, and employees relating to privacy law, subject to attorney supervision. Manage data subject access requests (DSARs), perform initial assessment of validity of requests, liaise with system owners, and communicate with data subjects as needed; work closely with Enterprise Information Security team and other stakeholders to continuously improve and automate the DSAR process
Support the team’s response to certifications, ESG and vendor surveys, and RFP questions accurately, while protecting the Company. Review vendor contracts for risk analysis.
Supports privacy policies and notices, and other internal- and external- facing disclosures.
Supports data privacy playbooks, contractual templates, privacy FAQs and related resources, and acts as knowledge management lead for the Global Privacy team.
Calculates fees and handles A/P process for fees related to privacy registration (where appropriate). Receive, track, log, and initiate payment process for law firm invoices.
Qualifications:
Associates Degree with Paralegal or legal secretary training
2+ years as legal secretary or paralegal
MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint + Legal database software
Notary or ability to obtain Notary license. Paralegal Certificate* (Paralegal certificate required to use “Paralegal” in title)
Working knowledge of GDPR, CCPA and other key data privacy laws
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent planning, project management & organizational skills, time management, and analytical skills.
Excellent attention to detail.
