Position Summary
As an Organizational Development Specialist at Dallas College, you will play a crucial role in optimizing our talent management processes and programs to attract, develop, and retain top talent. You will work on implementing organizational practices that support the creation of “Best Place to Work” culture. You will collaborate with various stakeholders, including HR, management, and employees, to ensure the effective implementation and utilization of our Workday talent management system. Your expertise in Workday and talent management strategies will help drive the success of our organization’s talent initiatives.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge and experience with performance management, succession planning, career path development and workforce assessment.
Knowledge and experience with organizational development tools and processes such as employee surveys, action plans and team development.
Excellent writing skills with specific attention to detail and demonstrated experience drafting polished and professional guidelines, procedures, and communication.
Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Initiative-taker who applies creative thinking to develop solutions based on new methods and technologies.
Must be ethical and able to maintain confidentiality of information related to performance management.
Strong on relationship and consensus building, influencing skills and working with a variety of diverse stakeholders.
A demonstrated willingness to engage in professional development activities to develop and improve new and current skills, and to adapt to the evolving needs of the organization.
Strong skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills and a demonstrated competency to interact with diverse individuals at all levels of the organization.
The ability to develop knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.
Experience working with Workday talent management modules, including performance management, succession planning, career path development and workforce assessment.
Strong knowledge of talent management best practices and industry trends.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data and metrics to drive talent management decisions.
Strong critical and strategic thinking skills.
High level of confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive employee information.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with HR and business leaders to identify talent management needs, develop strategies, and implement programs that align with organizational goals.
Serve as the primary point of contact for all talent management-related matters and provide guidance to employees and managers on talent-related processes and policies.
Oversee the talent management lifecycle, including strategic workforce planning, performance management, succession planning, career path development and workforce assessment.
Manage employee surveys, action plans and team development.
Leverage Workday functionalities to streamline talent management processes, ensure data accuracy, and generate meaningful reports and analytics.
Design and deliver training programs and workshops for employees and managers to enhance their understanding of talent management practices and tools.
Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in talent management, and proactively recommend innovative solutions to enhance our talent strategies.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the integration of talent management practices into various HR systems and processes.
Support the implementation of diversity and inclusion initiatives to foster an inclusive and equitable work environment.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in organizational development or human resources, Master’s degree in organization development preferred
Minimum of 5 years of experience in talent management, preferably in a similar role.
Proven experience in designing and delivering training programs and workshops.
