Summary
This position is responsible for leading and developing a vision and providing strategic insight for DSI’s Tax, Treasury, and Risk Management function. Collaborate with Corporate Tax and Treasury teams in Headquarters to set tax, insurance, and cash management strategies for DSI. Lead the team responsible for US tax planning, technical research and tax compliance activities and the team will focus on maximizing corporate income tax savings opportunities and contributing to stakeholder value while ensuring compliance with tax payment and reporting obligation. This role is also responsible for establishing and overseeing DSI treasury and cash management processes and policies that meet the DSI’s objectives, needs, and regulatory requirements and for overseeing all insurance related processes and insurance consultant/broker relationships.
Responsibilities
– Tax – Collaborate with the Corporate Tax team at the Headquarters and will work with external tax advisors to develop and maintain the corporate tax strategy. Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments and develop strategies to address legislative changes. Lead the team responsible for US tax planning, technical research and tax compliance activities and the team will focus on maximizing corporate income tax savings opportunities and contributing to stakeholder value while ensuring compliance with tax payment and reporting obligation. The team will work with tax advisors to manage all tax controversy matters and with the Corporate tax team manage transfer pricing and global tax issues for all intercompany transactions.
– Treasury – Responsible for overseeing the organization’s funding and inventory position, developing funding strategies, and communicating cash positions and overseeing cash settlement with the Treasury team at the Headquarters. Develop and monitor treasury operational policies and processes of cash forecasting, budgeting, and investment. Lead the team that will ensure adequate liquidity for working capital needs and invest short term excess cash. Oversee cash management banking and financial institution relationships and negotiate bank and service fees; implement new bank technologies, products and services to improve cash cycle and simplify company operations; and ensure compliance with internal controls, policies and procedures. Responsible for identifying various investment opportunities to maximize returns on the Company’s non-operating cash, and monitoring cash investments and recommending changes to the investment policies as required. Responsible for overseeing daily management of customer credit issue resolutions, periodical customer credit analysis and credit line updates.
– Insurance – Risk Management Responsible for developing and overseeing insurance policy to manage and mitigate business risk for DSI. Maintain close communication with the Headquarters and the Legal department to gain knowledge and understand legal issues related to DSI’s liability and insurance trends. Lead the team that will manage DSI’s insurance programs by analyzing insurance needs and be responsible for identifying risk exposures and analyzing and classifying risks to provide optimum coverage, costs sand claim settlements. The team will conduct routine policy reviews and coordinate policy renewals and optimizing coverage and minimizing premiums.
– Strategic Projects – Lead and be the subject-matter expert on all tax and accounting issues related to Business Development and special projects. The role will coordinate information flow between BD team, the business and headquarters and seek outside expert/consultancy opinion when necessary.
– People Leadership -Provide leadership, mentorship, and coaching to the Tax, Treasury, and Risk Management team that fosters an environment of problem-solving, inquisitiveness, sense of purpose and belonging, and improved business practices and attracts and retains superior talent. Conduct career aspiration discussions with team members and support development of IDP plans for all team members. Monitor team’s engagement and motivation level. Work with the team to understand challenges and identify plans to improve team’s engagement. Build and continuously improve the capability of talent through ongoing talent management. Lead both internal and external teams through organization and company change. This position will also be responsible for strategic partnership with 3rd party suppliers that provide capabilities and insights to support organizational needs.

Education Qualifications (from an accredited college or university)
– Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting required
– Master’s Degree MS/MBA tax or law degree preferred
Experience Qualifications
– 10 or More Years Finance/Accounting or corporate tax experience required
– Big 4 firm experience preferred
– Knowledge of pharmaceutical/biotech industry preferred
– Expertise in ASC 740 preferred
– FRS 102 and IFRS tax statutory reporting experience preferred
– Cash/Investment Management, Credit Management, Tax Accounting and Tax related areas experience, as well as familiarity with stock option valuation and knowledge of the overall treasury operations/systems, federal/state tax laws/regulations preferred
Licenses and Certifications
– Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
Travel
Ability to travel up to 10% domestic and international travel for conferences and business meetings as required
