Summary
The incumbent will serve as the global program manager for the Global Specialty Medical Affairs (GSMA) team, reporting to the GSMA Head based in Basking Ridge, NJ. This person will be responsible for leading the GMA and TA teams through the annual business planning processes, which involves collaborating and facilitating discussions between Global Specialty Value Access and Pricing (GSVA&P), MA Planning, the Specialty Medicine Corporate Strategy Unit (Tokyo, Japan),the Global Brand Strategy team members, and regional functions. This position will support the Head GSMA with preparation and management of the Global Medical Affairs Plan, which involves outlining global medical strategies, objectives and tactics, and, on a monthly basis, tracking/reporting of associated budget and timelines. This position will require extensive experience with global project management, development of project plans, budgets and resourcing plans, as well as the utilization of project management related computer software and processes. This individual will identify and assist in the resolution of program/project risks or issues, and support of project teams in managing their objectives. This will involve working very closely with business owners and management and require strong and effective skills in written and verbal communication, project management, leadership, and intercultural understanding. This position will require, on a periodic basis, development of processes/tools regarding global medical activities and/or project management, which involve leading/facilitating teams and creation of process flows, templates and written procedures.
Responsibilities
– Program/Project Management:Organizes and manages project teams within GSMA for all program initiatives to help ensure that therapeutic area objectives are met in alignment with the overall Medical Affairs strategyManages the preparation of the annual Global Medical Affairs Plan and tracks progress on the Medical Affairs tactics (i.e., projects) and activities utilizing appropriate tools in alignment with Daiichi’s processesManages and tracks program/project budgets, deliverables and timelines closely to ensure financial, deliverables, and time commitments are within forecast/targetIdentifies key issues and risks and assists with resolutionResponsible for supporting business owners in the development of contracts associated with the GSMA projects and enabling vendor paymentResponsible for reconciling and producing financial management reports
– Business Planning: Supports the Heads of GSMA and GSVAP with the annual business planning processes. Facilitates global cross functional business planning activities and serves as a liaison with regional program management. In collaboration with the Head of GSMA ensures alignment throughout the various phases of the annual planning process and confirm/validate input and consensus on the overall Global Medical Plan
– Process Improvement/Special Projects: Identifies areas of improvement regarding global processes and brings forward possible solutions independently or through facilitation of/liaising with regional or global colleagues Develops and optimizes the GSMA Planning business processes/infrastructure necessary to enable MA Unit’s and GSMA long-term operations in compliance with DSI policy and Financial Management Reporting requirements. Serves as a representative of the MA Planning or GSMA team on assigned global special projects. Team Interactions: Provides US or global representation on project teams. Liaise with necessary global or regional colleagues to enable continued management, progress and maintenance of assigned special projects

Education Qualifications (from an accredited college or university)
– Bachelor’s Degree required
– Advanced degree or Project Management Professional certification preferred preferred
Experience Qualifications
– 7 or More Years of global pharmaceutical (or equivalent) industry experience with direct project lead or program management capacity experience required or
– 4 or More Years of global pharmaceutical (or equivalent) industry experience in a project lead or program management capacity with an advanced degree required
– 7 or more years of project management experience required
– Experience working on a global team, including US, EU, Japan and ASCA countries required
– Managerial experience desired preferred
– Ability to travel up to 20% – position may require occasional travel (global) required
– Master the MS suite of products (Project, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and others) required
– Experience in working with systems development or business process improvement initiatives as business sponsor preferred
Physical Requirements. Will work non-core hours to accommodate strategic alignment meetings with business partners located in different geographical locations when needed 30% of the time
Travel
