JOB DESCRIPTION: Systems Administrator

Summary of Position

Sets up, configures, and supports internal and/or external networks. Develops and maintains all systems, applications, security, and network configurations. Installs and maintains networking and server hardware. Troubleshoots network performance issues and creates and maintains a disaster recovery plan. Recommends upgrades, patches, and new applications and equipment. Provides 2nd& 3rdlevel technical support and guidance to users.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Install and support LANs, WANs
• Install and maintain network hardware and software
• Maintain network servers such as file servers, VPN gateways, and intrusion detection/prevention systems, and Firewalls
• Ensure network connectivity throughout a company’s LAN/WAN infrastructure is on par with technical considerations
• Maintain integrity of the network, server deployment, and security of all systems
• Evaluate and modify system’s performance while isolating issues and determining network, system, and user requirements
• Perform other duties as required and assigned by the AVP/ISO and upper management
• Develop and maintain networking, firewall, operations documentation and updates
• Setup and configure windows servers and manage patch releases
• Setup and maintain backup systems
• Setup and maintain VMware ESX systems
• Assist in the management of Azure platform to include security, best practices, and future projects
• Monitor Event Logging systems for security events and response
• Provide after hours and weekend support calls when assigned on-call responsibilities (on-call is rotated amongst each technician and technical supervisor)
• Managed hybrid Office 365/Exchange environment
• DRaaS environment and all backups/recovery systems
• Manage Fortinet Firewall environment

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience required
• Five or more years of experience in supporting corporate networks
• Should have an intermediate level understanding of LAN/WAN technologies
• Skilled at configuring routers, switches, firewalls, wireless, VPN and network access control, VMWare
• Cisco, Fortinet, Security, and other certifications a plus.
