CTS Excavations, LLC performs excavation and site preparation services for both commercial and residential projects. We have been in business since 2007 and our current primary job sites are in North Alabama including the Huntsville and Madison area as well as Jackson County. The majority of our projects are site preparation for subdivisions with curbs, gutters, storm drains including underground sanitary & storm sewer, domestic water and underground electrical utilities. We are seeking an experienced HR Assistant to join our team. The job is performed at our office and is not remote. The HR Assistant is a support role focused on assisting the HR Manager. The position reports to the HR Manager and coordinates recruitment, employment processing and verification, as well as assists with onboarding and new hire orientation. We are a growing company with over 70 employees and averaging 5 – 10 new hires per month.
Job Description
· Assist supervisors with job requisitions, applications, and the overall hiring process including benefits enrollment.
· Suggest recruiting strategies to attract appropriate and effective sources for candidates.
· Post open positions in a variety of locations to include: social media, national and local boards and community job boards.
· Conduct reference checks and drug testing on applicants.
· Complete data entry of all new hire paperwork into SAGE 300 system and appropriate updates as needed.
· Create communication pieces as needed for use in print and social media.
· Maintain I-9s and e-Verify employment authorization and files.
· Maintain personnel files and records with integrity and confidentiality, both physically and digitally.
· Assist with planning and executing special events such as annual benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition, company events, and employee celebrations.
· Provide clerical support to the HR and Finance department.
· Attend staff meetings and training sessions.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
· Associates Degree in related field preferred.
· 2 – 4years of experience in the Human Resources field preferred.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Strong in Word and Excel.
· Attention to detail and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
· Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
· Excellent organizational skills, must be detail oriented and exhibit a high degree of accuracy.
· Must exhibit initiative in the absence of supervision.
· Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
· Must be able to relate to and work with diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community in a friendly and consistent manner.
· Must work collaboratively as a team member as well as independently and lead by completing assigned goals, duties and deadlines.
· Must possess ability to exercise high levels of discretion and confidentiality.
· Maintain a neat and professional appearance at all times.
Salary Commensurate with experience with a range of $15 – $17 per hour.
