Controller
The controller position is responsible for the accounting operations of the company, to include the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company’s reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles. This position reports to the CFO.

Job Responsibilities:
Management:
· Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
· Lead the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational
· structure adequate for achieving the department’s goals and objectives
· Build relationships with the managers in each area of the company
· Ability to interact and effectively negotiate with vendors
· Identify and address financial risks and opportunities for the company
· Evaluate and oversee as necessary ERP upgrades and conversions
· Recruit and train new staff members as necessary
Reporting:
· Issue timely, complete, and accurate financial statements
· Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations
· Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics
· Assist with the management and production of the annual budget and forecasts
· Calculate variances from the budget, analyze them and report significant issues to management
· Provide financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations
· Assist with special projects as needed
· Oversee all treasury and bank activities
Compliance:
· Coordinate the annual audit with external auditors
· Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants
· Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
Qualifications and Skills:
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting and 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in both public accounting and private industry
· Prefer candidate with a minimum of 1 year of experience as a Controller.
· CPA is a plus
· Self-motivated, completes tasks, interested in learning new ideas, embraces change, achieves results, high performer
· Superior Excel and good overall Microsoft Office skills
· Experience with Sage Intacct is a plus
· Demonstrated Ability to Train and Develop Staff
