Concordia University Chicago (CUC) invites applications for the Director of Counseling Services. This position reports directly to the Dean of Students/Vice President for Student Success and is located in River Forest, IL.
The Director of Counseling Services is a licensed counselor, social worker, or psychologist with current registration in the state of Illinois who provides leadership, coordination, strategic planning, and day-to-day administration of a student-centered wellness department. The Director serves as a champion for the student experience working to advance mental health services and medical resources that support student success. This position is responsible for providing solution-focused and/or short-term individual psychotherapy for students, supportive counseling, assessments and crisis intervention. The Director also provides consultation to students, faculty, staff and parents, as well as designs and facilitates educational outreach activities. Additionally, this individual will provide weekly clinical supervision and consultation to 1-2 master’s-level counseling interns or licensed-eligible part-time counselors.
The Director of Counseling Services is an enthusiastic supporter of Lutheran higher education who exhibits Christ-centered servant leadership and a dedication to student success. This individual is responsible for ensuring that the Concordia University Chicago mission, vision, and core values are integrated into the daily functions of the Counseling Center Services. This includes, but is not limited to, offering faith-based resources and support to students who are seeking the integration of faith into the counseling process. The Director also maintains a close working relationship with the University ministry team to help bridge services with spiritual care.
