goals for increasing college completion rates, tracks progress toward their goals, and prioritizes implementation of a set of evidence-based
practices that have proven to produce more equitable outcomes for students.
Complete College America’s headquarters is in
Indianapolis, Indiana. The selected candidate will have potential for remote work, with periodic in-office meetings as required.
Job Description
Reporting to the Vice President for Research, Policy, and Advocacy, the Data Analyst assists
Alliance members in building understanding and functionality around data metrics and outcomes. The Data Analyst connects CCA’s data
strategies to the states, systems, colleges, and universities to facilitate the expansion of data capacity within and across their
organizations. This position supports colleges in their self-assessment and institutional transformation efforts, as well as creating
professional development tools on how to improve data collection and implementation strategies around the predictors of college
completion.
The selected candidate will help promote data capacity building across the CCA Alliance. Successful candidates will have
prior understanding of how postsecondary student success practices work. The selected candidate will create reporting processes to
demonstrate the extent to which Alliance members fulfill targets associated with student success metrics and institutional transformation
goals. They will also collaborate with colleges to enhance their self-assessment capabilities and provide insights for continuous
improvement.
Excellent written and oral communication skills are paramount for this role, as the selected candidate must be able to
translate data requirements into student success ones, and vice versa. The candidate should be proficient in delivering course content to
improve data collection practices around predictors of college completion, ensuring that Alliance members can effectively analyze and
utilize the information.
An individual will be successful in this position if they can own and prioritize projects, balance tasks,
and employ a team-based approach to executing strategy. Their ability to collaborate with colleges in their self-assessment and
institutional transformation efforts, as well as facilitate course content on data collection improvement, will be essential for success in
this role.
Responsibilities
• Collect data that inform student success reform efforts, including data
related to institutional transformation and improved data collection practices
• Work with college leaders to translate data
requirements into reports, and to promote data availability throughout a college, while supporting their self-assessment and transformation
efforts
• Create reports on common student completion metrics, as well as on measures used to track the success of specific
reform efforts, institutional transformation progress, and data collection improvements
• Document best practices for promoting
data availability and use, especially for decision support purposes among student success leadership, and provide guidance on effective data
collection for predictors of college completion
• Communicate report findings eloquently, in both presentation and
documentation, and deliver course content on improving data collection practices
• Other duties as assigned, including
supporting colleges in their self-assessment and institutional transformation efforts, and facilitating course content on data collection
improvement around predictors of college completion
Job Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the
following skills and experience:
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Fluency in Microsoft Excel and
Qualtrics
• Comfort with multiple data visualization techniques to match specific project objectives
• Competency in
collecting and merging data from disparate sources and systems
• Prior professional experience in higher education sector
• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field, or commensurate combination of education and professional experience. Master’s degree
is preferred.
• Ability to articulate complex higher education issues in a manner that can be understood by a wide variety of
audiences
• A firm commitment to equity in the workplace and to the achievement of equitable outcomes in student success and
college credential attainment

Salary

Physical Demands
The position requires little physical effort.
However, during an event, the employee may have to lift boxes with meeting supplies and documents for distribution.
