The Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) is seeking an experienced communications professional to serve as the Health Communications Manager. Our selected candidate plays a critical role in overseeing and coordinating all communications related to the Bureau of Health Professions Licensure (BHPL). Reporting to the Policy Manager, this position collaborates with the DPH Communications Department to ensure that communication strategies align with BHPL priorities and adhere to departmental policies and procedures. The Health Communications Manager works across BHPL Boards and Programs to establish a cohesive brand and uniform messaging through various outreach efforts.
As the Health Communications Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all communication efforts within the BHPL, including strategic planning, content development, media relations, and maintaining a strong brand presence. This role requires collaboration with various stakeholders, attention to detail, and the ability to navigate sensitive and evolving policy landscapes. By effectively managing internal and external communications, the Health Communications Manager plays a vital role in promoting the mission and objectives of the BHPL while ensuring compliance with regulations and fostering public trust.

MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must have at least (A) four (4) years of full-time or, equivalent part-time, professional, professional internship, administrative, supervisory, or managerial experience in business administration, business management, public administration, public management, clinical administration or clinical management or (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and substitutions below.
Substitutions:
I. A certificate in a relevant or related field may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience.
II. An Associate’s degree in a related field may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience.
III. A Bachelor’s degree in a related field may be substituted for two (2) years of the required experience.
IV. A Graduate degree in a related field may be substituted for three (3) years of the required experience.
V. A Doctorate degree in a related field may be substituted for the required experience.
