Position Summary
The James L. Voss Veterinary Teaching Hospital at Colorado State University invites applications for a clinical administrative professional veterinary position in Equine Field Service. Equine Field Service provides primary and emergency medical care, preventive health, lameness, dentistry and other services to clientele in northern Colorado. This position will service existing clients and develop new clientele in the region. The ideal candidate must be able to provide a hands-on learning experience for veterinary students and mentorship of house officers. The position relies on a teamwork-focused structure, while providing excellent equine care and demonstration of strong communication with clients. The successful applicant would join a veterinary team including two intern veterinarians and two existing faculty members. One faculty member is ABVP (Equine board certified). The service is equipped with diagnostic capabilities including gastroscopy, upper airway endoscopy, ultrasound, digital radiography, shockwave therapy, intra-articular biologics, and electrocardiography.
Qualified individuals must demonstrate an ability to provide excellent equine veterinary care. The candidates must obtain an active academic veterinary license in the State of Colorado. This position requires strong interpersonal skills with daily use of clinical systems, equipment and data management tools. The selected individual must have good communication skills, organizational skills, professional integrity, teamwork, a solid work ethic and a desire to teach veterinary medical students and house officers.
