Located on the southeast Atlantic coast in Brunswick, midway between Savannah, Georgia and Jacksonville, Florida, the College of Coastal Georgia is an undergraduate college in the University System of Georgia with an additional outreach through the Camden Center in Kingsland, Georgia. Job Summary
The College of Coastal Georgia nursing programs are highly respected in the community, consistently have above state and national average NCLEX-RN pass rates and have been nationally ranked as high-performing programs. The programs have been innovative in ways to increase program growth, and due to unprecedented opportunities and new funding, the department has been able to add new cohorts, program tracks, and faculty positions. The College is currently underway with a $16,000,000 expansion to the nursing building, focusing on increasing and updating the simulation, lab, and classroom spaces. This is a wonderful time to join the School of Nursing and Health Sciences teaching in the ASN, BSN, and RN-BSN programs. This is an academic year (10-month contract) with a non-tenure track appointment. The contract is expected to begin August 1, 2024.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities –
-Teach courses in the ASN, BSN, and/or RN-to-BSN programs
-Perform course assessment and implement purposeful data-driven changes to courses as appropriate
-Supervise nursing students in the clinical setting (healthcare facilities, lab, and simulation)
-Online teaching as required
-Maintain on-campus office hours, prepare course lectures, materials, syllabi, course calendar, exams, quizzes, and maintain courses learning management system (LMS) page to enter grades, course content, announcements, etc
-Participate in course/program assessment, and student retention and progression strategies
-Service including department, school, and college committees
-Conduct academic advisement and career counseling
– Travel as needed for clinical and professional development
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
– Masters degree in Nursing
Other Required Qualifications
-Current Georgia Nursing License (RN)
-Current immunization records and CPR certification required by clinical facilities
Required Experience
-Recent bedside nursing experience and/or recent experience supervising students in clinical setting
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Educational Qualifications
-Doctorate degree in Nursing
Preferred Experience
-Recent nursing clinical experience in the area of Mental
Health, Long-Term Care, or Medical Surgical
-Teaching in an undergraduate nursing program
-Experience with nursing simulation
-Experience with ACEN accreditation
-Current Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) credentials
