Position Description:
The Department of Sociology and Anthropology invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level beginning in August 2024. We seek a broadly trained cultural anthropologist who has a strong commitment to teaching within an undergraduate liberal arts and sciences setting. The individual would be expected to contribute to our cultural anthropology concentration as well as teach a four field Introduction to Anthropology course. While research area is open, we seek an anthropologist who will complement but not duplicate the research areas currently represented by program faculty. Special consideration will be given to candidates who are able to contribute to the College of Charleston’s Race, Equity, and Inclusion initiative and to the Cultural Sustainability Certificate. Successful candidates will have earned a Ph.D. in Anthropology by the time of appointment.
