Job Description
The Human Resources Specialist administers confidential and professional support within HR and to our employees. The Human Resources Specialist will assist with specific human resource functions including benefits, training administration, some recruiting, onboarding, compliance with state and federal employment law, and HRIS systems.

Main Responsibilities
· Respond timely and appropriately to employees and leadership questions, comments, or concerns in alignment with HR Policies or processes.
· Performs as the main point of contact for all benefits administration.
· Assist with recruitment and onboarding activities for the placement of highly qualified individuals, and attend job fairs and recruiting events.
· Develop and maintain professional relationships, with secondary education, vocational education, employment agencies, military, and professional organizations.
· May assist with Colaska’s drug and alcohol testing program.
· · Is the point of contact with external third-party HR vendors
· Maintains employee dialogue via creating a Company newsletter, social media posts, and corporate initiative surveys.
· Maintain and administer the HRIS system. Become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) regarding HRIS systems, both internal and external.
Profile
Requires a bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or a related field
3-5 years of experience as an HR Generalist and Recruiting Experience
PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred, not required, willingness to achieve certification within 2 years
Excellent written and verbal communication
High professional and ethical standards; ability to maintain confidentiality
An enthusiastic, personable team player with integrity and confidence.
Strong working knowledge of federal, state, and local labor laws
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
