JOB SUMMARY:
Coordinates and manages multiple projects in support of Women in Science and Engineering (WISE). Oversees the development and execution of the WISE mentoring programing, the Women in Science and Engineering Residence Living-Learning Community (WISER LLC), K-12 tutoring and outreach programs, in addition to signature programs such as Women’s History Month, Native America History Month, and other initiatives focused on student retention.
JOB DUTIES:
45% – Essential – Student Services:
Coordinates efforts of the multiple instructors of the WISER Seminar Class. Manages and directs the WISE Mentoring program to promote a sense of belonging at the institution. Coordinates Career/Academic Coaching to CECAS students to build relationships with student to aid in College retention efforts. Collaborates with CECAS Advising Centers, Academic Success Center, and other campus units to support retention and other learning services such as PALS and Tutoring Service for the student s academic success
30% – Essential – Program Management/Development:
Designs, develops, implements, and manages the academic, social, and cultural initiatives for the WISER and WISE Mentoring Program. Develops project plans for WISER, including program recruiting, hiring, and supervising graduate assistants, to ensure project deliverables, milestones and required tasks are completed as planned Defines and prioritizes project requirements including coordination of curriculum and instructors. Supervises WISER student registration process. Supports WISER activities which includes facilitating problem resolution by determining or recommending and implementing a risk mitigation strategy. Conduct pre and post assessment of the program to produce impact report accounting for key deliverables to external stakeholders (e.g., donors, University administration, families, and legislators). Coordinates and manages WISE mentoring program including the recruitment, training, and supervision of WISE mentors. Assigns mentors to incoming Freshmen. Communicates with incoming Freshman regarding the benefits and expectations of the program. Guides and assists mentors with best approach to reacting to difficult situations reported by mentees.
15% – Essential – Recruitment & Promotion:
Coordinates outreach and recruiting activities to expose underrepresented students to CECAS majors such as Girl Scout’s Day, SEE Clemson, and school visits as requested.
Coordinates programs with Pre-Collegiate Program Office to ensure all regulations are met.
10% – Essential – Liaising and Community Engagement:
Assists the Executive Director of PEER and WISE in developing strategic initiatives to increase Diversity Equity and Inclusion in the College of Engineering Computing and Applied Sciences. Serves as liaison and resource to other CECAS units on implementation and development for recruiting and retaining underrepresented students in STEM. Serves as a member on college-level committees relating to outreach, recruiting, retaining, and the advancement of the first-year students through student services, and academic support. Advertises program via newsletter and web pages. Organizes alumni e-mentoring by request. Plans and implements alumni engagement panels.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree and experience in student services programs.

Education: Master’s Degree
