The Research Project Manager III serves as a co-PI or reports to the designated PI and is responsible for the overall management of scientific and research projects, grants and programs on NIH funded studies. This position is responsible for all aspects of project planning and execution including planning, scope definition, design, execution, timeline monitoring, marketing, and delivery including assembling teams, managing personnel and resources and ensuring the timely completion of goals (as detailed by the PI). This position is also responsible for project reporting requirements including presentations, publications, reports and other deliverables to sponsors, internal- and external-stakeholders. This position may be periodically required to travel to or report to other regional sites. Other duties as assigned.
JOB DUTIES:
45% – Essential – Leads the development and implementation of project staffing in line with project plans to ensure timely completion of federally funded research projects. Identifies staff competencies and assigns staff resources to project tasks appropriate to each individual’s knowledge, skill, and abilities. Directs the research team in communicating and obtaining project goals, monitors project progress, and manages staff to keep research projects on track. Uses existing infrastructure and resources in Box and REDCap to achieve and monitor project progress and staff goals setting and attainment. Tasks are set by PI.
20% – Essential – Distributes duties and appoints team leads to oversee, delegate, and lead regular tasks. Delegates special assignments to team. Oversees and/or supervises temporary staff, administrative staff (e.g., Clinical Research Associates and Marketing Specialists), and/or research support specialists. Evaluates, leads, coaches, mentors and trains Clinical Research Associates, Research Support Specialists, and student workers/volunteers.
20% – Essential – Serves as a PI or as PI¿s representative to structure, implement, and maintain defined operational standards. Serves as Principal Investigator¿s representative in designing integrated solutions which may include tools, trainings, reports, as well as requirements for project queries, applications, databases, data capture forms, online web pages, and related systems using REDCap, Box, and SPSS or SAS or R.
10% – Essential – Ensures that personnel complete all required staff training, shepherd research staff through onboarding, perform 90-day reviews and annual reviews of research staff, field and organize time off requests from research staff ensuring coverage of duties. Uses REDCap to summarize progress of staff onboarding as well as staff proficiency at meeting goals. My assist with regulatory duties including preparation, submission, and tracking of IRB submissions, approvals, and reviews. May assist with data analysis and/or publishing research reports. Grant writing opportunities available, if desired. Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education – 1st Master’s Degree – gerontology, psychology, nursing, or related field.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Education – 1st Doctoral / Professional Degree – gerontology, psychology, nursing, or related field.
Work Exp 5+ years (Research project management experience. Clinical trial experience. Management or supervisory experience; Publication and/or grant funding track record.)
