This position will implement prescribed animal care, health, grazing programs for the animals at the CU Sheep Farm. Will assist the CU Sheep Farm manager in grazing management, maintaining facilities and carrying out research and teaching protocols. Will assist with maintaining accurate and detailed animal records for the farm, research and teaching programs. Other duties as assigned
JOB DUTIES:
65% – Essential – Animal Care: Implement all aspects of animal husbandry including but not limited to feeding, health assessment and care, breeding, lambing, grazing implementation and management.
20% – Essential – Maintenance: Perform general farm facility and equipment maintenance.
10% – Essential – Record Keeping: Will assist manager with farm record keeping.
5% – Essential – Personnel: Facilitate student employees in the areas of animal feeding, basic animal health care, grazing implementation, farm maintenance and other tasks as needed.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Work Exp 1+ years
A high school diploma.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Education – Bachelor’s Degree – Animal Science or related field
