Manages all phases of accounting entries of student and donor refunds. Researches, analyzes, and verifies refund status as required by Accounts Payable and students. Acts as liaison with departments for debt turnovers. Reviews fee calculations and postings due to changes in student records. Trains the customer service team regarding operational procedures and assists during orientation and registration, as needed. Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB DUTIES:
40% – Essential – Student Withdrawals: Reviews and validates calculations and postings for student withdrawals. Confirms entries posted by departments for accuracy. Communicates with or counsels students and staff about financial obligations.
30% – Essential – Accounting: Researches, analyzes and reports problems associated with student fees. Processes and deposits admissions and tuition payments through Touch Net System. Handles accounting entries for wire transfers. Notifies Housing, Redfern, Library and Parking Services of deadlines for departmental debt turnover prior to start of each term. Responsible for removing accounting entries as requested by departments.
20% – Essential – Student and Donor Disbursements: Serves as back-up for system-generated refunds. Responsible for all phases of issuing handwritten checks through web-based program. Ensures accounting codes are posted with accuracy for refunds back to donors, third-party vendors, and Veterans Administration.
10% – Essential – Graduating Candidates Debt Notification: Manages all phases of debts posted to candidates for graduation. Notifies departments of deadlines for posting of charges. Communicates with students by email or phone of debt amount and due date. Provides final notification to Student Records for removing of diplomas due to outstanding debt.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education – A high school diploma and professional experience in a related area such as accounting, auditing, finance or commercial lending.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Education – Associate Degree or higher
Experience – Banner, Peoplesoft, Student Withdrawal experience
