This position is organizationally aligned under the Acute Nursing-Inpatient Division at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center, Milwaukee, WI. The primary purpose of this position requires the incumbent to provide administrative support in the Office of the Division Manager, and to perform clerical and assistant duties for Nurse Managers, Supervisors, and other support staff. The incumbent in this position serves as a primary timekeeper for assigned time and leave units within the division.

Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-4 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Knowledge of a body of standardized rules, procedures, and operations requiring considerable training and experience is required to perform the full range of standard clerical and support assignments and to resolve recurring problems. Skill in operating work processing equipment, spreadsheet programs, graphics packages, desktop publishing and database programs. Skills in the organization, maintenance, and efficiency of effective office management. Overall understanding of objectives as well as planning and other judgmental factors which must be used in completing statistical and financial data.

Preferred Experience: Administrative assistance experience preferred.
