Peer Academic Coach
The Center for Academic Success seeks a Peer Academic Coach to work with undergraduate students across all disciplines of the University. Peer Academic Coaching provides a structured, collaborative approach to support students and is intended to increase a student’s ability to become a more self-directed learner by identifying learning strategies and academic resources that best match the student’s individual preference for processing information. The Academic Coach provides individualized guidance and ongoing feedback to students throughout the semester.
Duties for this position include the following:
Under the supervision of a professional staff member, provide basic academic coaching for students from all disciplines, including conducting initial assessments, outreach, and providing ongoing coaching in targeted areas.
Required Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
The candidate must have earned a minimum of 30 credit hours and demonstrated success as an undergraduate student with a GPA of 2.75 or higher. The ideal candidate is student-focused, organized, and detail-oriented and has excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The candidate must have the ability to handle confidential data with discretion and tact, while being able to work independently and in a team environment.
