THIS POSITION IS OPEN UNTIL FILLED, WITH A FIRST REVIEW DATE SCHEDULED FOR JULY 5, 2022. Screening interviews will be held via Zoom during the week of July 18th, and formal interviews will be held in person during the week of July 25th. The target start date for this position is September 1, 2022.

The Human Resources Department is seeking our next Human Resources Coordinator who will have a focus on Training & Safety. Our department has an excellent, small team with great working relationships and care for the employees in the City. The person who joins the team in this role will influence the Training & Development program, which focuses not only on regulatory and compliance training, but also workforce development training.

OUR CITY*
The City of Auburn is home to over 87,000 residents and encompasses over 29.8 square miles of land, two rivers, and is part of two counties – King and Pierce. The City operates as a Strong-Mayor form of Mayor-Council government, with a City Council of seven at-large members. Auburn is comprised of 472 full-time equivalents (FTEs) to support our 9 departments.
OUR HUMAN RESOURCES & RISK MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT
Our department develops and administers personnel policies, recruits applicants for employment, assists in selecting and hiring employees, makes recommendations to the compensation package (including benefits), and negotiates and administers labor agreements. The department also represents the City in administrative hearings, develops and conducts management training programs, monitors compliance with applicable state and federal laws and regulations, oversees risk management programs, and develops, implements, and ensures compliance with the City’s safety program. The department strongly supports the Inclusive Auburn Initiative for the City, directly through our talent acquisition and workforce development programs, with the goal to promote inclusion and create opportunities for full participation for every employee, resident and business in the City of Auburn, working in conjunction with departments across the City.
