MEDICAID COORDINATOR

OVERVIEW:

The Medicaid Coordinator will work with other members of the business office to accomplish tasks related to Medicaid billing and collections. This position will also handle various clerical and billing functions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manages the day to day operations of the Business Office
• Assist with monthly billing of Private and NAMI
• Assist with collections of Private and NAMI
• Assist with processing Direct Deposit forms for residents income ( Social Security and Pensions)
• Attend monthly A/R meetings
• Attend weekly UR meetings
• Handles all resident banking including check cashing, distribution of funds to residents, timely notification to Corporate of disbursements
• Assist with all aspect of Medicaid (Applications, renewals)
• Meet with resident and or responsible representative for Medicaid eligibility
• Identify residents in need of financial supervision (Guardianships)
• Identify NAMI discrepancies and correct
• Additional temporary responsibilities include but not limited to:
• May assist with payroll as needed
• Submit Payroll for Nursing/Environmental and Maintenance Departments
• Forward all payable invoices to Administrator
• Prepare all aspect of COVID-19 Testing Kits
• Prepare weekly staff count for the submission of the weekly staff survey
• Prepare Bed Census with distribution to appropriate departments
• Assist in the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) process.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, healthcare administration, or related subject
• Prior experience within the skilled nursing, long-term care industry
• Must have strong organizational skills
• Must be able to do account reconciliations
• Able to communicate effectively with Medicaid Representatives

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• This job operates in a health care setting. This role requires regular walking to various locations around the care center.
• Incumbent may be exposed to virus, disease and infection from patients and specimens in working environment.
• Incumbent may be required to work extended periods of time at a video display terminal.
• Incumbent may experience traumatic situations, including psychiatric, and deceased patients.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear.
• The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds

Pay: $60,000.00 – $70,000.00 per year
