Agile Product Owners serve as the internal voice of the customer. In this role, the TPO defines system features and participates in validation. The TPO must remain aware of other work being completed within the Portfolio so that they can help teams proactively manage risks and dependencies. The incumbent provides counsel and advice to top management on significant matters, often requiring coordination between organizations. Focuses on providing thought leadership and technical expertise across multiple disciplines. Recognized internally as “the go-to person” for the most complex assignments.
Must be a current contractor with Cigna, Express Scripts, or Evernorth.
Essential Functions :
Understand business needs : collaborate with disparate stakeholder groups to identify, understand and capture functional needs of product stakeholders and define non-functional requirements to ensure value is delivered.
Communicate needs and enable teams to deliver quality products : Communicate business needs, write definition-of-ready user stories and incorporate architectural changes recommended by engineering. Maintain groomed backlog for business stakeholder priorities, ensuring the greatest value is delivered soonest.
Deliver iterative value : Ensure team’s work creates iterative value, e.g. supports the completion of MVP/Epics in concert with other teams). Plan delivery of iterative value with other TPOs.
Leading key Agile ceremonies : Program / Product Increment (PI) Planning, Sprint Planning, Backlog Refinement, and Product Demos.
Skills :
Healthcare Product Owner with experience in one or more of the following domains: Medical (strongly preferred), Pharmacy, Claims, Clients (Enrollment, Administration, Eligibility), Buyers, Providers, Behavioral.
Experience creating and managing capabilities, features, user stories, and a prioritized backlog.
Experience defining technical solutions for complex business problems.
Experience developing personas, use cases, roadmaps and process workflows.
Experience translating product/platform strategy by writing detailed features and user stories consumable for delivery teams.
Experience managing feature and story elaboration activities throughout delivery execution, typically maintaining 2 Sprints worth of ‘ready’ work (stories meeting DOR).
Experience managing requirements for large programs with complex cross-functional dependencies.
Ability to work cross-functionally with Business, Compliance, IRM, Infrastructure, Architecture and Software Engineering.
Minimum 3 years in product ownership, product management or systems analysis & requirements definition.
Previous coding experience preferred but not required.
Scrum Master experience preferred but not required.
Ability to manage expectations realistically with stakeholders at all levels.
This role offers a lot of visibility across the organization so this person must be comfortable and confident being the “face” of the team.
Must be able to work autonomously and be willing to take ownership even in the face of uncertainty and ambiguity – lead and drive results!
Operates with a sense of urgency and proactively communicates in order to promote and maintain transparency.
Ability to perform in high visibility, high pressure environment with competing priorities coming from multiple senior-level stakeholders.
QUALIFICATION
Bachelor’s degree in related field with 2+ year of experience
7 years relevant experience without Bachelor’s Degree
Proven organizational skills with the ability to develop a detailed work plan to ensure project success.
Demonstrated problem solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others to resolve issues with innovate solutions.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong elicitation and conflict resolution skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Adaptability and willingness to learn new tools and applications
This role is located onsite which expects most work to be performed at a Cigna office location, but may allow for some work to be performed at home. Employees must be fully vaccinated if they choose to come onsite. Currently, due to the pandemic, we are encouraging all employee to remain working from home and all onsite meetings require a virtual option. However, we expect that this role will likely return to being performed primarily at an office location.
If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 100,600 – 167,600 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.
This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
