Chestnut Hill College Looking for Director of Curriculum Development – Nursing Program Full Time

The Director of Curriculum Development for the Nursing Program is responsible for creating detailed, engaging, rigorous nursing program
and course curricula, high quality educational resources and student learning assessment instruments. The Director will create and maintain
courses with best-in-class course materials, learning technologies and pedagogies, and serve as a senior level curriculum expert, promote
evaluations and assess curriculum outcomes. The position will work closely with various groups within Chestnut Hill College, including
faculty, administration, clinical education, library sciences, instructional designers, education technology experts, and accreditation and
regulatory areas, to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness, of curriculum development resulting in on-time implementation of
state-of-the-art courses and curricula.

Requirements:

• Master’s Degree in Nursing required
• Doctoral Degree in relevant field of specialization preferred
• At least 5 years of experience in higher education, curriculum
  development, and instructional design, both face-to-face and online.
• Certification as a Nurse Educator preferred
• Demonstrated success in the role of nursing educator/staff developer (online, blended, on campus).
• Knowledge of current
  techniques and strategies used in the design, development, and delivery of curriculum and instruction
• Knowledge of and ability to
  incorporate best practices in simulation education into curriculum.
• Experience in faculty development and training
• Excellent communication skills – oral and written – and strong organizational skills
• Ability to positively interact
  and work collaboratively with diverse populations and internal and external constituents, including faculty, staff, administration, and
  students.

Responsibilities:

Curriculum Development and Course Design:

• Create and develop educational and training curricula and other capacity building tools for the Nursing Program
• Direct course
  development and implementation of course content and teaching strategies. Leads and educate faculty in the utilization and implementation of
  course content
• Maintain curriculum maps and levels the following curricular elements: pedagogical approach, and learning assessment
  to appropriate professional and regulatory standards and assures consistency

Project Management

• Create comprehensive goals and project plans for each course developed.
• Manage multiple course development projects while
  monitoring, measuring, and reporting on progress to ensure courses are delivered on time and with the highest level of quality and
  innovation
• Identify appropriate faculty SMEs in the development of courses. Provide regular updates to the President and the VPAA
  on the status of course development.
• Participate in final stage quality assurance procedures for courses through scheduled review
  and maintenance

Assessment:

• Uses best practice and current research to design appropriate
  assessments into every course that will evaluate student learning, course outcomes, and how the course contributes to the program
  outcomes.
• Analyze multiple data sources related to curriculum/courses and interprets data to lead appropriate improvements
• Conduct research in consultation with external teams on curriculum, teaching, and learning assessment.

Other:

• Maintain the Program’s accreditation requirements in relation to curricula.
• Maintain
  current knowledge in nursing practice, (education, nursing practice, and research), and keep abreast of curriculum knowledge, via
  literature, research, and changes/developments in the healthcare field.
• Understanding of the regulatory environment of higher
  education and nursing
• Ability to interact with al levels with the College and work in a fast-paced environment with many
  initiatives underway at all times.
