ChampionX has an immediate opening for a Senior Tax Accountant role based on The Woodlands, TX. This role will prepare interim and annual global income tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740 and associated tax entries including analysis of effective tax rate (ETR), current and deferred tax liability, tax attribute carryforward schedules, ASC 740-10 (previously FIN 48) reserve analysis, state tax calculations, tax credit calculations, stock-based compensation calculations and provision to return reconciliations.
What You Will Do:
Liaise with foreign offices to gather quarterly foreign tax package data (includes forecast tax provision, return to provision, current tax liability roll forward, uncertain tax positions etc.), review data and provide comments.
Prepare domestic permanent and temporary difference supporting calculations on quarterly basis.
Review and Aggregate forecast data for preparation of quarterly tax provision
Monitor worldwide withholding taxes by category and jurisdiction
Prepare quarterly Valuation Allowance Analysis
Prepare state tax analysis including update of Texas Margin Tax quarterly and update of state tax rates and apportionment factors on an annual basis
Prepare quarterly (and off quarter monthly) tax entries and OCI tax entries for financial reporting team
Maintain and make updates to OneSource Tax Provision
Support tax provision and effective tax rate analysis for budget and other multi year or long range plan scenarios.
Prepare quarterly cash tax analysis
Prepare quarterly domestic current tax account reconciliations and year end deferred tax account reconciliations
Prepare annual tax basis balance sheet and various supporting deferred proofs
Prepare files for responses to internal and external auditors during the financial audit cycle.
Research of tax/accounting issues and special projects as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
Minimum 5 years of tax provision and compliance experience
Preferred Qualifications:
CPA
Excellent research, documentation and communication skills
Experience in tax provision and accounting for both domestic and international jurisdictions
Excellent analytical skills, together with strong communication skills
Strong organizational and prioritization skills
Proficiency with OneSource Tax Provision
Exposure/proficiency with Oracle/SAP/HFM
Ability to work collaboratively with all teams, departments, management levels within the company, and external stakeholders.
Experience in oil and gas sector or chemicals sector a plus
