SUMMARY
Recruits and evaluates prospective students for admission. Performs a variety of duties in the recruitment and selection of student applications for admission to Centenary College. Participates in the development and implementation of both on and off campus recruitment activities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Develops a comprehensive recruitment plan for an assigned area. This includes identifying target objectives and goals to be met throughout the recruitment cycle and assisting with the planning and implementation of recruitment programs, receptions, and meetings.
• Provides monthly assessment about progress toward identified objectives and goals.
• Visits secondary schools within assigned areas and conducts meetings with prospective students and guidance counselors.
• Corresponds with prospective students, applicants, parents, college alumni, guidance counselors and others seeking information regarding admission standards, academic and non-academic programs, financial aid and student activities. This includes preparing and giving presentations to prospective students and their families.
• Reviews application files and makes admission/scholarship recommendations to the Director of Admission.
• Participates in new student orientation.
• Recruit, evaluate and seat at least 30 qualified freshmen per year.
• Willingness and ability to travel 60% of the time.
• Regularly entertains prospective students and their parents as well as high school guidance counselors off campus on behalf of the College for the purpose of student recruitment.
• Utilizes mobile computing beyond the confines of the office for the purpose of recruitment travel and student/parent/high school counselor presentations.
• Must be accessible and reachable by cell phone or text message at times other than College business hours for the purpose of student recruitment—contacting office as well as students and high school counselors.
• Other related projects, duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

Student workers when assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM:
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Must posses a valid driver’s license.
• Must be people-oriented individual, have good communication skills, and the ability to work with a diverse group of people. • Well organized and self-motivated.
• Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, email, and database applications.
• Must be able to fulfill job requirements in a high-energy, high-traffic area.
• Evening/Weekend work required.
PREFERRED:
• Related admission/recruitment experience.
• Experience with Excel and Access.
• Experience with Banner and/or Slate.
• Experience with a selective, residential, Liberal Arts college
