Cedar Crest College seeks a full-time Student Financial Services Specialist to join our busy financial aid team.
The Specialist serves as the point person for the department and greets students and families, answers phones, manages office email, assists new and returning students, along with their families, counsels and assists with the financial aid and billing process, as well as pulling financial aid documents and other data through applicable systems, such as EDconnect. The SFS Specialist processes federal verification and c-codes, assists in the packaging of financial aid, and performs other functions related to the administration of student financial aid, while ensuring that the college remains in compliance with the state, federal and institutional polices and regulations related to financial aid.
Preference will be given to those applicants who have a bachelor’s degree in an applicable discipline, and at least one year of higher education experience, preferably in a financial aid office. Excellent communication and customer service skills, attention to detail and demonstrated ability to multi-task and meet deadlines are all essential to the position. Prior experience with database management software, and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel and Access also required. Candidate must be able and available to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
