SUMMARY:
Carthage College seeks a Student Success Advisor to
provide specialized retention outreach and support services within the Center for Student Success. The Student Success Advisor facilitates
Carthage students’ successful transition to the College and supports ongoing academic success and persistence through graduation. Center for
Student Success staff work closely with other college personnel to holistically address the academic, personal, and social needs of
students, with particular focus on supporting underrepresented/underserved student populations. Our focus is ensuring every student
graduates.
The Center for Student Success is in the second year of implementing our revised model of holistic advising. This model
expanded how we support students using a data-informed, comprehensive approach which leverages the expertise, influence, and resources of
campus partners to support student learning and remove barriers to students’ success. This case management approach requires Student Success
Advisors to build rapport quickly, to connect with campus partners, and to communicate effectively across stakeholder groups.

Position may require shared supervision of a limited number of Peer Mentors and/or other
paraprofessional staff as they serve students in order to ensure development of their leadership skills and positive outcomes for the
department.
