Position Summary:
The Surgical Technician Service Line Coordinator coordinates the daily activities of the assigned specialty service(s) in the Operating Room. Fulfills a leadership role by taking responsibility for monitoring and developing efficient daily workflow for assigned service line. Collaborates and partners with Service Line Coordinators, Supply Chain Management and Purchasing across all organizational surgical locations. Ensures appropriate equipment and supplies are available for all surgical cases. Provides direct support to the surgeons and staff who are performing patient care. Responsible for obtaining and updating all Physician Preference Cards for new and existing physicians.
Qualifications:
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Associate’s Degree in Surgical Technology or Certificate in Surgical Technology
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) upon hire and
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Two years (2) surgical services specific experience preferred; prior experience and knowledge of medical and surgical products, processes and supply utilization.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Leadership, independence, responsibility, accountability, and good judgement. Strong organizational skills to coordinate and manage multiple activities simultaneously. Ability to effectively communicate and problem solve with the perioperative team, surgeons, and organizational leadership. Highly collaborative, flexible, straightforward, credible and steadfast. Ability to effectively lead change. Specialty Competency Checklist specific to Service Line. Knowledge of computer systems, Microsoft office. Excellent communication skills including writing, reading and interpretation. Good math and logic skills for product/supply chain evaluation.
