Linux Systems Administrator I

Location: Longmont, CO

Schedule: Full Time

Salary: $100K – $115K

OVERVIEW

Caribou Thunder is seeking a Linux Systems Administrator I to maintain operations of multi-user computer systems, virtual computer systems, COTS software products, and perform system administration within the scope of the program.

SECURITY CLEARANCE

• Secret Clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s Degree plus 2 years of experience
• 
  OR Master’s and zero years of experience

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Monitor and correct system performance issues.
• Backup and restore files, patching system, and operating system software.
• Maintain software licenses and assist Information Assurance with account management and system vulnerability management.
• Work closely with the customer and peer personnel to accomplish these responsibilities.
• Provide on-the-job training on system configuration.
• Assist in deploying software/hardware deliveries.
• Support special projects.
• Assist operational crews and contractor teams in resolving system and network issues.
• Assist the IA team by providing access to system logs, instructions for monitoring user accounts, and identifying and responding to security issues/incidents.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Red Hat Enterprise Linux installation, configuration, and administration experience
• Experience supporting Database applications (SQL, PostgreSQL)
• Administration experience on Microsoft Server platforms
• Familiarity with IBM Advance Interactive eXecutive (AIX) Unix Systems
• IaaS Virtualization platform experience (VMWare, OpenStack, etc.)
• Configuration automation experience with tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience working in DevOps, DevSecOps environments
• Certification or proven experience using VMWare products
• Linux+, MCSE or equivalent systems administration certifications highly desirable
